Privacy Policy
CineIntel Africa. Effective 24 August 2026
CineIntel Africa is operated by Symbiosis LLC. This policy explains what information the platform collects and how long it keeps it.
Use of YouTube API Services
CineIntel Africa uses YouTube API Services. By using this platform you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
You can revoke this platform's access to your data via the Google security settings page. CineIntel Africa does not currently request or hold authorization from any YouTube account.
What YouTube data we collect
We use the YouTube Data API to read publicly available information about films that we have mapped to a video identifier: title, channel name, description, duration, publication date, thumbnail location, and public statistics including view, like, and comment counts. We also read public comment text on a periodic basis to compute an aggregate sentiment figure.
We do not collect, request, or store any personal information about YouTube users, viewers, commenters, or channel owners. We do not use OAuth, hold no authorized user data, and access no private or restricted data of any kind. We do not download, host, or re-encode any video. Playback happens on YouTube's own site or apps.
Retention of YouTube data
We take periodic readings of public view counts and retain a series of those readings so that the growth of a film's audience over time can be shown. Every figure we display carries the date it was observed. We display the most recent reading available and present earlier readings explicitly as historical.
We refresh stored data on a scheduled basis and verify that mapped videos remain available. Where a video is no longer available, we retain the last observed figure with its observation date and mark the title as unavailable rather than presenting a stale figure as current.
Retention of statistical data beyond thirty days is subject to permission under YouTube's additional policies for derived metrics and data storage. Where that permission does not apply, stored statistics are refreshed or deleted within thirty days.
YouTube data
Statistics retrieved from the YouTube API are refreshed regularly and automatically deleted after thirty days. We store no YouTube statistics older than thirty days anywhere on the platform, including in our scheduled data exports. Automatic deletion took effect on 24 August 2026.
Derived figures
We compute two values from data we have read: an audience demand index and an automated sentiment score. Neither is YouTube data, neither is presented as YouTube data, and both are labelled as our own calculation. Where a derived figure is not supported by sufficient inputs, we mark it as not live rather than displaying it.
Information about platform users
CineIntel Africa's administrative interface requires an account. For account holders we hold an email address, an assigned role, and a record of administrative actions taken, for the purpose of operating and securing the platform. We do not sell or share this information. Account holders may request access, correction, or deletion at the contact below.
The public read-only application programming interface (API) requires no account and collects no information about the people who call it.
Cookies and device storage
The public catalog sets no cookies and no device storage during normal browsing. Nothing on this site is used for advertising, analytics, profiling or cross-site tracking. There are no third-party scripts, tag managers or embedded players, and no data is shared with advertising networks.
Signing in to the administrative interface stores a small number of strictly necessary and functional items on your device. They are listed below under the exact names you will see in your browser's developer tools.
Cookie
sidebar_state: remembers whether the admin sidebar is expanded or collapsed, so the layout stays as you left it. Value is "true" or "false". Expires after 7 days. First-party, not sent to any other site.
Local storage
sb-<project>-auth-token: your signed-in session, set by our authentication provider. Holds the access token, refresh token, expiry, and your account identifier and email, so you stay signed in across page loads. Removed when you sign out.titles:pageSize: the number of rows per page you chose in the catalog list.compliance-vault:draft:<titleId>: a local draft of an in-progress compliance review, so unsaved work is not lost on reload. Removed when the form is submitted or cleared.
Session storage
titles:view-state: your current catalog search text, filters, sort order and scroll position, so returning to the list restores where you were. Cleared when the browser tab closes.
We use no other device storage. There is no IndexedDB use, no service worker, and no device fingerprinting.
You can clear all of these at any time. Signing out removes the session item. In your browser settings, clearing cookies and site data for this site removes everything listed above, and most browsers also let you delete individual items under Application or Storage in developer tools. Blocking cookies and storage for this site will not affect reading the public catalog, but it will prevent signing in to the administrative interface. This section was added on 24 August 2026.
Rights holders
If you hold rights in a film recorded here and want a correction, an attribution changed, or a record removed, write to us and we will act on it.

Data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation, may give you rights over personal information held about you, including access, correction, erasure, and objection. Contact us to exercise them.

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it.
